The Château

Perched on a hill overlooking the Dordogne River, the château enjoys a commanding position with breathtaking views of the river and the surrounding countryside. Dating from the 14th and 15th centuries, it was completely restored in 2004 and offers all the charm of a private historic residence.

The property features four elegant bedrooms and one private apartment, all designed for comfort. Set within terraced and enclosed grounds, the château boasts a private swimming pool located just above the residence, with stunning views of the river. Though wonderfully private, the estate is only a short drive from another château and nearby amenities.

• Double/twin bedroom with river views, air conditioning, ensuite bathroom, and separate WC.

• Apartment featuring a double/twin bedroom with river and countryside views, an adjoining lounge with sofa bed and television, air conditioning, ensuite bathroom, and separate WC.

Surroundings & Lifestyle

The Dordogne region is celebrated for its gastronomy and fine wines. Outdoor activities abound, including canoeing, fishing, horseback riding, and cycling. Bustling local markets in Sarlat and Cahors, along with the medieval town of Martel, are well worth a visit.

The château is set within 120 hectares of private forest, home to truffle oaks, hornbeams, and boxwoods. Maintained trails are ideal for hiking or jogging, including the scenic “Postman’s Path,” carved into the cliffs, offering panoramic views of the Dordogne. The river itself is one of the richest fishing grounds in France, teeming with pike, perch, roach, eels, and lamprey—and is a true paradise for canoeing enthusiasts.
